Satire (Latin ‘satura’ = medley) (Greek ‘satyros’ = satyr = crude, lewd mythical creature who exposed peoples faults and ridiculed them mercilessly)

A point of view that is critical and mocking, often attacking a person, place or idea with scathing humor and clever wit.

Often used by cartoonists, stand up comics and journalists.
