Ekphrastic Poetry (Greek = speaking out) [also spelled ECPHRASTIC]
Poetry that imitates, describes, critiques, dramatizes, reflects upon or otherwise responds to a work of non literary art, especially the visual.
Subjects include paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, architecture.
Photograph poems are slightly different since they are based on real life images Imitations of imitations.
Should not just replicate- should add to image with language or talk back to it and go beyond mere description.
